thanks in advance

Those weapons ARE customized when purchased, and the weapons/armor can only be bought for a pvp character.

I undestand that you have to unlock a few pieces of armor, before you can acquire the ascended versions of them.

I don't know if the game counts unlocks for the whole account or the character only, but I would think twice before I decide to unlock armor for one of my PvP characters. You might want to delete this one in the future.

That's why I unlock weapon skills only. If you want to delete your PvP character, equip the weapons on herores. If you create a new PvP character now, you will be able to use those weapons again.

p.s. No there is no way to transfer them into PvE, because only PvP characters have this unlock ability.

@ Drake - no. You're wrong about the ascended bit.

You can get armor sets and fancy weapons for a pvp character, but they disappear when you delete that character. My pvp mesmer had elite canthan but I deleted her thinking that the armor was actually 'unlocked' on my account so I could select it from the menu whenever I made a mesmer.

Good to know that. Thanks.

A drop down menu with already unlocked skins would be better though, but this is going off-topic now...

You should stop using the term "unlocked" as that does not apply to reward skins for armor and weapons. The skins are separate to several tiers(Basic, Fancy, Exotic). To get some of the better looking skins, you first have to spend a certain number of reward points on skins on your current tier. Once you have spent enough, the next tier of skins become available for you to spend points on.

*Edit No need to apologize Drake. I'm just pointing out the difference between the skill unlock system and reward system. Newer players can get confused when using the same term for 2 separate things.

That’s basically what I meant. But I apologize for the “wrong” use of words, I’m not a native English speaker.

correct. the pvp items and armors for pvp characters are made just for that character. if you delete, you lose them.

Which is quite retarded, I thought you kept them in the pvp panel as a selection once you bought them at first, but oh well. Xunlai predictions coming in tomorrow, HB tourneys daily - Reward points ftw.

RP items, you CAN keep if you delete the char you got them on, but you MUST equip them on a hero, then you can re-equip them on another pvp char. Armor on the other hand, you can't keep if you delete the char.

If you equip the items on a hero, when you make a new PvP char, the heroes it comes with will have those items as well. It's a funny bug, but it works.
